This is primarily an art blog with some personal insight thrown in. I show my new paintings and discusss my on-line activities trying my darndest to sell them. I work in acrylics, watercolors and colored pencils along with other mediums that I attempt as I grow and learn as an artist. Thank you for stopping by!

Red Poppies Three hot off the Easel!
I have recently finished this 14 x 11 acrylic on Canvas! It was a fun and challenging piece to do! Poppies have such papery, translucent petals that need to glow! I love the deep background shadows too with some of the foliage barely visible. It is interesting how sunlight makes some greens appear almost turquoise. I also love the little pop of lime green in the centers.
I did a smaller poppy painting for a collaboration with another artist and have been wanting to do a larger piece. This one is only a 5 x 7 piece.
I do a lot of florals and have many for sale on Daily Paintworks, Etsy and Fine Art America!

Never too early for Christmas Poinsettia painting
This is a new watercolor painting that I did hopefully to use on Christmas cards this year. It always gets to be holiday time and I have no chance to do something for a card. Well, this year I am way ahead of the game.
These poinsettias were in a casino of all places - they were the prettiest white, pink and red. This casino has a display of huge gingerbread houses every year so I took my camera. I am sooo glad that I did!
I will be adding Giclee prints of this painting to my Etsy shop soon! I have to keep the original for a solo gallery show in September.
Thanks for looking and come back soon!
